Privacy and access controls
Private reflections and sensitive cessation activity require restricted access. Routine oversight should focus on appropriate derived insights.
SAFEGUARDING & PRIVACY
Our design principles put young people’s wellbeing, privacy and safeguarding ahead of novelty.
SAFETY BY DESIGN
AI-supported education must be age-appropriate, transparent and subject to meaningful human oversight. Educational content should not pretend to diagnose, treat or independently resolve a safeguarding concern.
Private reflections and sensitive cessation activity require restricted access. Routine oversight should focus on appropriate derived insights.
A trained safeguarding lead and existing organisational procedures are critical. Serious safety concerns need an appropriate human response.
Organisation-based access controls should be verified through testing, including exceptional, reason-required and auditable access.
A pilot can measure usability, understanding and confidence. It cannot be described as clinically validated or proven effective without evidence.
IMPORTANT LIMITS
Nova is designed as an educational AI coach, not a doctor, therapist, counsellor or emergency responder. Young people should be directed to trusted adults and relevant professional or emergency services when appropriate.
Our public website is separate from the EduAssess student application. Please do not send us children's personal data or safeguarding disclosures through the public contact form.
For this public website, see our privacy information →. Separate student-facing notices and data-processing arrangements are required before wider use.
Tell us about your organisation. We will discuss suitability, safeguarding and next steps before any young person participates.
